EXAMPLES OF WORKING METHODS WITH CHILDREN:

Simulations – this method is based on imitating reality. This is a make-believe game. Simulations may include skills such as: telephone conversation, playing parcel delivery at the post office, playing shop, doctor, etc. In simulations, it is worth using as many props as possible to familiarize the child with the operation, handling or purpose of individual items.

The child should also be stimulated to conduct a dialogue, to use polite expressions, to clearly and clearly articulate his needs and expectations. Thanks to this method, children develop their creative invention, social and cognitive skills, and shape their value system.

Timeline – this method allows children to familiarize themselves with the concept of time.

It consists in presenting events in a chronological order, most often in a linear dimension. This method can be used, for example, to present holiday planning, ways of lighting in the past and today.

Mental map (also known as a concept map) – used e.g. in order to systematize the newly acquired knowledge or visualize the possessed knowledge, e.g. in the implementation of the subject of spring, our homes, our food.

  1. Brainstorming (the so-called idea factory, idea exchange) consists in providing various associations and solutions that are brought by the imagination.
  2. The essence of brainstorming is not to judge, ie every idea is good.
  3. This method can be used as a mental warm-up to establish the scope of one’s knowledge, to consolidate previously acquired knowledge, to find the best solution to a problem.

Drama is about role-playing, improvisation involving movement and gesture, speech, thoughts and feelings. In drama, spontaneity, willingness to act actively, natural need to play, to be in the role of different people are used.

This method has many advantages, including: it helps to understand the motivation of various behaviors, prepares to fulfill various life roles, stimulates movement, helps to discover oneself.

Play – a natural means of children’s expression. The parent leaves the child a free choice of games and does not perform any activities for him, thanks to which the child has the opportunity to reveal and express his feelings. By observing your child while they are playing, you can become aware of their needs, interests, sources of anxiety and frustration, and how the child copes in a given situation. Play mobilizes the child to make decisions, choices, overcome the difficulties encountered, thus enabling his harmonious development.
