What if there isn't a Lekotek near me?
You are welcome to e-mail us your specific questions, or contact our Toy Resource Helpline, in which you will be called by one of Lekotek's play specialists who will answer your specific question one-on-one with you. Most Lekoteks were started because families decided their community needed one. To start a Lekotek in your community, please contact us so we can provide you with all of the details.

What kinds of children does Lekotek serve?
Typically, Lekoteks serve children age's birth through eight with a range of disabilities including Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, sight or hearing loss, and mental retardation. More recently, Lekoteks have provided services to children who might be at-risk of developing delays or other learning challenges due to environmental factors and financial disadvantages. At Lekotek, a child is not defined or labeled by their challenges - Lekotek welcomes only two kinds of children…boys and girls.

Do I need a referral to get Lekotek services?
Families do not need a referral to access services. If you feel your child can benefit from Lekotek services, you are welcome to participate.

What does it cost to come to Lekotek?
Each site has a different fee schedule. Many sites have sliding fee scales for those who are unable to pay for the monthly fees. For more specific rates, contact your local Lekotek office or call 800-366-PLAY.
